Blepharoplasty and Aesthetics: A Winning Combination

Why You Should Consider Blepharoplasty and other Aesthetic Treatments

Do you find yourself frustrated with your drooping eyelids making you look tired, worn down, and older than you really are?

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that can help fix those droopy eyelids. But if you want to really enhance your experience, you can make your treatment go further with aesthetics.

There are so many options out there to help you achieve healthy, glowing skin and reclaim your youthful appearance.

The great part is that you don’t have to choose just one! In fact, many of these treatments and procedures compliment each other to bring out the best results.

Dr. Teal is a skilled ophthalmic surgeon who has the right touch to incorporate aesthetics and eyelid surgery into her practice. That’s why you can trust her to bring beautiful, natural-looking results with minimal discomfort or downtime.

If you’re considering blepharoplasty, here’s why you should consider other treatments to get the most out of your experience.

Blepharoplasty: Eyelid Surgery For Those Aging Eyes

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is performed on the upper or lower eyelids to help fix droopiness. It also helps bags and drooping under the eyes, excess skin on the eyelids, and vision issues caused by that excess skin.

Aging eyes and eyelids begin to lose their elasticity over time. You’ve probably noticed your eyelids have begun to sag, or that bags have appeared under your eyes. That’s a good sign that blepharoplasty might be the solution you need!

This is the best treatment for droopy eyelids because it’s a procedure that actually works to remove excess fat and tissues, restoring elasticity.

The effects are also long-term: upper eyelid surgery usually lasts about 5 to 7 years, and lower eyelid surgery rarely needs to be repeated.

Additionally, there is minimal discomfort during blepharoplasty as your physician will use local anesthesia. You’ll be able to return home the same day to recover in comfort, and you can get back to your regular activities within a few weeks.

Upper Eyelid Surgery

This procedure is done to fix droopy eyelids and sagging skin on top of the eyes. Your ophthalmic surgeon will make a cut along the fold of your eyelid to remove excess skin and fat. The cut is then sutured.

You’ll have a few small stitches for a few days after the procedure, but the cut will heal quickly.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty is done on the lower eyelids to reduce bags and sagging skin under the eyes.

It’s usually done from the inside of the eye using very small incisions. You won’t be able to see those cuts, and they are usually gone in a short period of time. If you do receive stitches, they will usually be gone within a week.

Aesthetics: The Perfect Complement to Eyelid Surgery

While blepharoplasty can fix droopy eyelids, it can’t fix wrinkles, fine lines, or dark spots. That’s why it’s a great way to maximise other aesthetic treatments.

Patients will often receive surface procedures, such as chemical peels, or injections in conjunction with eyelid surgery.

Why does this work? Blepharoplasty makes your eyes pop because it makes them appear wider and more awake. Other procedures can enhance this appearance further by providing your skin with a healthy glow or eliminating wrinkles that make you appear older.

Additionally, alternate treatments can help your skin heal faster after blepharoplasty, prolonging the effects and keeping the skin tighter for longer.

What Are The Options?

If you’re looking to undergo a few treatments to help you achieve youthful, glowing skin, there are some procedures that pair well with blepharoplasty.

A natural path to take from blepharoplasty is to injectables. You’re receiving eyelid surgery to help appear younger, so you can go further by eliminating wrinkles and fine lines on the rest of your face.
